From Michael Barron on making the second Danger Painters record Pink Chair:
"The 2009 rpm challenge was as fun and nerve-racking as ever. bob boilen and i were joined this year by william x harvey (the moniker of my art-school pal bill harvey, who did not want to be confused with the porn rapper of the same name) playing bass, harmonium and doing some of the backing vocals. special appearance on “bother you” by liam harvey also singing backing vocals.
bob overcame his stage fright and stepped up to the microphone on “snow” and “last song last” (for which he also wrote the lyrics) bob and i collaborated on the lyrics for “still life." (bob wrote the original lyrics and i came up with the vocal melody, but bob later decided he didn’t like the lyrics he wrote, so at bob’s request i re-wrote them, using the same characters that bob had created in his original version.) i wrote the lyrics and vocal melodies for the rest of the songs. thanks to william x for encouraging me to write more lyrics for “bother you” which was only the chorus sung three times in its first incarnation.
