Tiny Desk Unit was the first and last band to play at the 9:30 club at its original location at 930 F street NW DC. Our first show was at dc Space, a restaurant and jazz loft around the corner and down the street at 7th and E street NW. The original lineup included drummer Chris Thompson and bass player Joe Menacker. The core members included guitarist Michael Barron, singer Susan Mumford and synth player Bob Boilen. The group formed in 1979 and disbanded in 1981. If you have pictures of the band please let us know.
