The Chairs of NPR a film by Bob Boilen I made this film in 1989 shortly after arriving at National Public Radio. Before NPR I worked at a small independent television station, equipped with state of the art equipment and good furniture. When the glow of working at NPR wore off, it hit me just how awful the working conditions were at my favorite and highly touted radio institution. I made this tongue in cheek documentary focusing on the chairs. This video was made without any edits, simply turning the camera on and off and shooting what I saw in one day at National Public Radio.
