Just This, No More

This music was written and performed over a 3 month period in 2004 summer’s end and then through the fall. Emotionally this music is about contentment, and simplicity. After years of spontaneous recordings, this is my first attempt to put a cohesive batch of songs together in almost 20 years.

Just This, No More
1 Reaktor
This one’s the palette cleanser. It’s the set up for the rest of the CD. Skip it if you are in an eager mood.
It is slow and languid.

2 Random String
I’m not sure if I like this but it works as a build up to the rest of the CD
3 Long, Long, Long
My remake of the Beatles tune from the White Album. One day I may be brave enough to add vocals.
4 Zebra Drum
My experiment: make a tune I really like then toss away all the good stuff and work with the stuff I don’t like as much. It worked rather well.
5 Guitar for Input
The longest track. I meant to cut this one way down but I liked the effect of hearing it like this.
6 The Night Slows
This tune is known to stretch time.
8 Cold Hank
How listening to Hank Williams inspires me to make music like this is a total mystery.
9 Who Knows
Sometimes tunes come to me in quick bursts; start to finish in a few hours. I love when this happens.
7 Some Saturday
At times I channel Phil Spector, I can’t help it.
10 Around and Around
I love this and I hate it; depends on my mood. It feels like someone else wrote this one.
11 What is the Heck of It
I thought I was done with the CD then this tune came to me one night. I love this most of all.
